Dodge City's Marshal Allen D. Bailey is the host of Western Swing & Other Things and has been broadcasting great western swing music from the Swingin' Gate Ranch for more than twenty years. In addition to presenting hard-to-find recordings from his vast collection, Marshal Bailey also enjoys researching the history of each recording when the information is available and sharing it with his listeners.

On the evening of March 9th, 2012, Jerry Yarnell, master artist, whose television program Paint This with Jerry Yarnell is seen on PBS, was deputized in his Skiatook, Oklahoma studio as honorary Deputy Marshal of Dodge City, Kansas by Dodge City's Marshal Allen D. Bailey. In attendance were several of his staff, friends, students, his Mother Mary, and his Father Joe.

Western Swing & Other Things travels the High Plains territory from time-to-time with appearances and special broadcasts by Marshal Bailey along with Cowgirl Janey.  The Marshal and the program have also garnered many awards over the years both locally and nationally.
