KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Amarillo sees first dip in sales tax revenue since 2013

KVII

Sales tax receipts were down slightly in Amarillo in January, according to the latest numbers from the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation.

As KVII reports,Amarillo has seen consistent increases in sales tax income every year since 2013. But Amarillo Financial Director Laura Storrs said not to be alarmed by this new downward trend, noting that Amarillo has been very fortunate over the past several years to see sales tax receipts continue to grow. She also pointed out that the dip was negligible, stating, “I mean we are within a percentage point.”

The City is expecting tax income to rise again after the summer months. Amarillo has been experiencing an economic boom, with many new businesses expected to open in the next year. Local retailers said they’re starting to see more citizens from rural communities driving to Amarillo to shop.
