Back in Kansas: Senator Pat Roberts
It’s the season. Representatives are back at home, getting in touch with their constituents. The Salina Journal reported Senator Pat Roberts, R-Kansas, was recently in Salina speaking about the gridlock in Washington, and sharing his stance on the following:
· Economic stimulus
· The suicide pact
Roberts was there when Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, and Washington was on fire. Over the years he’s seen other assassinations, Watergate, the Vietnam War, the attempt of impeach President Bill Clinton, and “lots of tough days, really tough days.”
“In short,” he said, "These are not the worst of times, not the best of times by any means."
