How Would a Clinton Administration Approach Agriculture?

agri-pulse.com

Agriculture hasn’t exactly been the focus of this year’s presidential campaign.

Agri-pulse did their part to make up for that omission this week by reporting on how Hillary Clinton would approach agriculture policy in the event that she’s elected.

While serving in the Senate, Clinton had a strong record of supporting agricultural interests. She consistently supported the farm bill. Then, during her tenure at the State Department, Secretary Clinton drew connections between food security and U.S. national security interests. During this election season, Clinton’s staff has met with a number of agriculture CEOs at Clinton headquarters in Brooklyn. And former Iowa Governor and current Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack has repeatedly voiced his support for Secretary Clinton’s rural America and agriculture policy.

Clinton herself has said her administration “will seek to increase agriculture productivity by expanding access to quality seeds, fertilizers, irrigation tools, and the credit to purchase them and training to use them.”

HPPR has previously reported on Donald Trump’s agriculture policy here, here, and here.
