Kenneth Wyatt is a Texas Panhandle treasure. The 83 year old is one of the country’s, maybe the world’s, premier artists of western and religious paintings according to the Amarillo Globe-News.
Wyatt was an ordained Methodist minister for 30 years until, he says, he felt uncalled to preach and called to paint. “Every day I wake up wanting to get to the easel. I’m jealous of that time not doing it. I’ve heard it said, ‘Isn’t it nice to know that if you like what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life?’ That’s the way I feel,” said Wyatt.
