I recently had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Skip Mancini and Jan Evans about a project, one near and dear to Skip's heart. Many of you know Skip as the voice of, Growing on the High Plains, but you may not know how Alzheimer's personally touched the life of both her parents.
Jan Evans is the outreach coordinator for the Alzheimer's Association of Central and Western Kansas. She and Skip met during an Alzheimer's event. They began to cook up a plan to partner and make a difference in southwest Kansas. In conjunction with the Alzheimer's Association, The Lee fund was founded in honor of Skip's parents. The fund offers:
- a 24-hour helpline for familto fund education and services for families and caregivers of persons with dementia in conjunction with the Alzheimers Association.
