Performing since 1967, Randy has dedicated his career to songwriting and his guitar, including solo projects as well as collaborations with various bands. An active member of the Texas Folk Music Alliance and the Folk Alliance International, he’s also been a finalist in the New Folk Songwriting Contest at the Kerrville Folk Festival. Palmer is known in the folk community as a brilliant writer, gifted storyteller, and faithful mentor and advocate for emerging folk artists. He has taught songwriting workshops for the Panhandle Professional Writer’s Association, as well as serving as a regular guest lecturer for Amarillo College’s Creative Writing Program.  He has also earned three ADDY awards for his commercial songwriting.

He released his first record, Fighter by Nature, in 1975 on RoRo Records; his second record, Calling Me Home, was produced in 1979 on Heartland Productions; and his third album, Waterline, came out in 2014.

Randy Palmer lives and plays in Amarillo, Texas (and he’s about the nicest guy you’ll ever meet). A longtime supporter of public radio, we’ve been honored to host Randy at previous Living Room Concerts. This show promises to be a BLAST, so don’t miss this inspired artist LIVE in Garden City.
