Texas Panhandle residents had an opportunity this week to step back in history. The Coors Cowboy Club drove 30 Texas Longhorn cattle through downtown Amarillo to the Tri-State Fairgrounds. They were kicking off the Ranch Rodeo said a recent article in the Amarillo Globe-News.
Ed Montana is an original club member.
“Not many people have seen a cattle drive that live in this area, “he says. “This is what Amarillo is!”
The herd snuck a few bites of plants along the way.
Montana says the cattle drive gave residents a new experience.
“There’s a lot of people that live in Amarillo, Texas, that go to Palo Duro Canyon and say ‘Wow I’ve never been here before,’” he said. “They’ve never seen a cattle drive, either!”
