Rural America loves Donald Trump, according to The Rural Blog.In fact, if November’s election were only held in rural America, the Donald would win the presidency by a landslide. The US has traditionally had a divide between the political views of rural and urban voters. Urban residents have traditionally skewed farther to the left than their counterparts in the countryside. But this year, the gap appears to be eve wider than usual.

Trump leads Clinton in rural areas by 31 points: 60 percent to 29 percent. Clinton, on the other hand, only leads the New York real estate tycoon by 25 percentage points in urban areas: 58 percent to 33 percent. Clinton’s advantage lies in the fact that urban voters far outnumber rural voters in the US.

But the news isn’t all good for Clinton. She’s performing worse in rural areas than President Obama did in 2012. And Trump appears to be doing better than Mitt Romney did four years ago in those areas.
