There are a number of steps to take for a successful duck hunt, but one of the most vital ingredients is- hide!
Ducks are very aware of their surroundings, and by the time they reach the southern plains, they are also ultra alert. Key elements for disguising yourself and your location are:
- Scout the area prior to blind placement, taking note of prevailing wind direction.
- Blind construction does not have to be intricate and elaborate. Make good use of natural materials.
- Your apparel needs to blend with your surroundings. Don't forget to camouflage your face as well. Nothing will scare off ducks as they land quicker than a reflective face.
