Here's a taste of Texas news:

Texas is a dangerous place to work.  Texas leads the nation in workplace fatalities and workplace injuries reported the Texas Tribune.  The rest of the story is here.

Attendance is up at Texas colleges and universities, but not for white students.  This is the third year white enrollment has declined.  More of the story is available from KUT News.

The debate that wasn’t.  During a recent town hall meeting Sen. Leticia Van de Putte, the Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, answered questions from panelists, the studio audience, and participants through social media.  The event was supposed to be a debate with Republican opponent, state Sen. Dan Patrick.  Event organizers say Patrick “respectfully declined” participation.  The Texas Tribune has the rest of the story.

Prada Marfa is a tourist attraction that looks just like a Prada store, but it’s not.  The building just outside the little Texas town is never open.  It has nothing to sell.  It is not affiliated with Prada as we know it.  The Texas Department of Transportation has been struggling to deal with the structure for over a year because the building’s sign is illegal under state rules.  The creative solution?  The structure is now classified as an art museum bringing into compliance with state requirements.  The Texas Tribune has more details.
