The economic website Wallethub has published its list of the best and worst US states for women to live in. Analysts compared states across 15 key metrics, ranging from median earnings to “women’s preventive health care” to the number of uninsured female women in the state.

Of states in the HPPR listening area, Nebraska performed the best, landing at number nine. Kansas did well, too, cracking the top 20 and landing at number 17 on the list. Colorado was in the top half of states, being listed at number 21 in the nation. Women don’t fare as well in Texas and Oklahoma. The two states landed at numbers 42 and 43, respectively.

Minnesota, Vermont, and New Hampshire were listed as the three best states to live in for women. And South Carolina and Louisiana were named the worst at taking care of their female residents.
