KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Best and Worst Cities for Your Skin

Wallethub

Summer is fast approaching, and that means it’s time to think about how to take care of our skin. Skin cancer is more common in the US than breast, colon, lung and prostate cancers combined. But some cities are more harmful than others. In some areas, the rate of skin cancer is lower, the air cleaner, the sun kinder, and treatment more accessible.  The personal finance website Wallethub wonderedwhat the best and worst cities for your skin are. Surprisingly, given its abundant sunlight, Texas fared well in the study. El Paso was rated the number one city in the country for skin health. San Antonio, Austin, Plano and Dallas were also in the top ten.

Denver landed at 45th,, Omaha was 51st, Wichita was 54th, and Oklahoma City came in 91st.  Colorado Springs fared most poorly among High Plains cities, falling at number 139 on the list.

The study only compared the top 150 most populous cities.
