KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Best and Worst States for Community Colleges

Wallethub

Community colleges were once disparaged as inferior to four-year institutions. But in recent years, two-year colleges have stepped up their game, sometimes even outperforming traditional universities. The personal finance website WalletHub has published a list of 2016’s states with the best and worst community college systems.

Of states in the HPPR listening area Nebraska performed the best, landing at number 12 on the list. Kansas appears at number 21 on the list, and Colorado at number 29, followed closely by Oklahoma. Texas landed at number 36 in the rankings. South Dakota was found to have the best community colleges in the nation, followed by Alaska and North Dakota at numbers two and three, respectively.

For their state-by-state analysis, WalletHub calculated a weighted average of scores obtained by community colleges in each state and the number of students enrolled in each school.
