Does Your State Have a Gambling Disorder?

Wallethub

How common is gambling in your state? In some places, like Utah, it’s prohibited by law. In others, like South Dakota, it’s rampant.

The economic siteWallethub decided to investigatewhich states have the highest and lowest rates of gambling addiction. Gambling disorder, as the affliction is known, affects a little over 2 percent of U.S. adults. Among High Plains states, Oklahoma had the poorest showing, ranking fifth among states in prevalence of gambling disorder. The state contains more than 70 casinos.

Colorado comes next in the rankings, landing at 19th. The rest of the HPPR listening area looks pretty good. Texas falls at 36th on the list, while Kansas is near the bottom at 46th. But Nebraska looks the best of all, performing better than all states except Utah, which sits at the very bottom of the ranks. Unsurprisingly, Nevada ranks first.
