KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

New Study: Climate Change Will Affect Colorado Food Supply

Climate change could pose a danger to the food supply in Colorado—and across the world, according to Colorado Public Radio.CPR’s report comes on the heels of a new study by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The three-year investigation says the water supply in Colorado will likely be impacted by the earth’s changing climate.

The water shortage will cause a change in how farmers irrigate crops. One scientist explained: "Rain-fed agriculture is going to be more challenging in the future than it is today.”

Farmers can compensate for the initial stages of climate change by adjusting irrigation timing. But the risk will eventually extend beyond agricultural production to other parts of the supply chain, including processing, storage and transportation.
