What Are the Best and Worst States for Nurses?

Wallethub

This week is National Nurse’s Week. In honor of the event, the personal finance website WalletHub has conducted an in-depth analysis of 2016’s Best & Worst States for Nurses. The site compared 14 key metrics that signal how much opportunity there is for nurses in a given state. Here’s how things stack up for the High Plains states:

Texas performs the best out of all states in the HPPR listening area. The Lone Star State is third on the list, and is the only High Plains state in the top 10.

But Kansas just missed the top 10, landing at number 11. Colorado also performed well, showing up at number 16 on the list. Nurses in Nebraska and Colorado don’t fare as well. Both states landed in the bottom half, with Nebraska at number 30 and Oklahoma at number 37.

Washington State was shown to be the best location to launch a nursing career in the United States. The District of Columbia was listed as the worst.
