Pot smokers in Colorado and Washington may soon see a familiar face on the dispensary shelves. A New York-based equity firm is backing singer Willie Nelson’s plan to market his own plan of marijuana, reports The Wall Street Journal blog. The Redheaded Stranger hopes to make his cannabis brand, Willie’s Reserve, available in both states’ recreational markets, and anywhere else sales are legal. Earlier this year, Nelson told The Guardian: “I’ve bought a lot of pot over the years, and now I’m going to sell some back.”
The singer, famous for such hits as “On the Road Again” and “Whiskey River,” has long been an outspoken advocate for Marijuana usage. He is a co-chairman of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws advisory board. In 2010, Nelson launched the TeaPot political party.
